OK, I admit it: Hugh Jackman is my personally preferred winner of the Best Actor Oscar this Sunday. Despite the fact that I’ve championed the category’s last two winners — Colin Firth and Jean Dujardin — I realize that the odds against me this time are too overwhelming. I acquiesce, Academy!

But having the humble and handsome Daniel Day-Lewis make history as the first lead actor to win three times as the booby prize? Priceless! His performance in “Lincoln” truly made me feel as if I were watching a reality show miraculously made back in the day, not a modern movie.
