Even with the Oscars getting 80 percent less sexy with the exclusion of Michael Fassbender, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling, this morning’s latest crop of Best Actor nominees is an impressive conglomeration of hotness (c’mon, now, we all know Oldman uglied-down for “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”). And, according to the “Today” show, it could even be the best-looking bunch of all time:
Matt Lauer: “We’ve got a very good-looking Best Actor category in here, between George Clooney, Jean DuJardin, Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, Damien Bichir, I mean — ”
Janice Min (The Hollywood Reporter): “It won’t be hard to watch this show, definitely.”
Ann Curry: “In fact, it may be one of the best-looking Best Actor categories ever.”
Janice Min: “… best-looking Best Actor categories in history, yes!”
Well, let’s see … Check the 2012 nominees out for yourself:

Demian Bichir, “A Better Life”

George Clooney, “The Descendants”

Jean Dujardin, “The Artist”

Gary Oldman, “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”

Brad Pitt, “Moneyball”
Gorgeous, one and all! But, personally, I think it’s near next to impossible to beat the amazing 1953 lineup of William Holden, Marlon Brando, Richard Burton, Montgomery Clift and Burt Lancaster — all in their prime!
Whether you agree or not with the “Today” bunch, at least one swoonworthy Best Actor Oscar winner is thrilled with his pal Oldman‘s nod, which he campaigned for unselfishly and tirelessly on Oldman’s behalf:
Colin Firth happy makes us happy! Yay!
